Do men in the U.S. Marine Corps have to get tested for STDs? If so, how often?

My friend got d by a man who is in the marines. He told her she wouldn't get an STD because he gets routinely checked and tested because he's in the military. Is this true or was he just feeding her a line? And if it is true, how often do they get tested? Thank you.
