D Day originally was a military term for the day they launched a major attack. In the modern world it is used as the day the Allies launched the counter invasion of Europe against the Germans in France during World War II. VE day was Victory in Europe day, or the day the Germans surrendered. V day is just a general term for any day a war ends.
