Do a lot of people go to Hawaii to be homeless?

I think that it is kind of an urban legend that people come to Hawaii planning to be homeless. I'm sure it happens sometimes - in fact the question comes up periodically here on YA. But I think more commonly people come to Hawaii & then things don't work out as planned. They lose their job, the cost of living was just more than they could manage. They don't have enough $$ for a plane ticket home & end up on the streets. How do they manage? We have homeless shelters & soup kitchens, some folks do panhandle or dumpster dive.
