Concerned about vericocele in left testicle?

I am 19 years old and have had vericose veins in my left testicle for the last few years. As I am getting older it is getting worse and I'm not so sure if it actually was vericose veins in the first place. Now, the veins which initially were above my testicle have also spread to the testicle itself wrapping around it and under it... My concern is whether this is still vericose veins that probably require surgery now, or worse does this sound like something worse like cancer that has grown to a more recognizable form? Obviously my description can only get me so far and I plan to visit a doctor soon, but if anyone has any input on this matter it would definitely make me feel a little bit less clueless.
