Is IVF a possibility?

I had my tubes tied after my second child from a previous relationship. I am over 35 and my husband and I have no children together but would like to. I have been told by several doctors that I am too overweight to have my tubes untied and was just wondering if I could possibly be a good candidate for IVF or if there is an alternative. Any answer would help right now.
