High Functioning Autisim....Normal Boy..?

My son Kyle was percieved as normal at birth but when he turned three, my husband and I noticed that there was something a little different about him than out other three children. We couldn't put our finger on it, he was just different, more aloof, and quieter than our other kids. We brought him to our doctor just to ask some questions and he said something about how he thought Kyle may have a high finctioning form of Autism (autism that is not too severe). He refered Kyle to a doctor that specializes with autistic children and he confirmed the case, saying that we should be looking for signs such as low motor functions and lack of co-ordination, amoung many other things. Most of the things that we were told to look out for were present, however Kyle seems to actually have hightened motor skills and amazing co-ordination. He is a soccer goalie and is doing fantastic and he is great at sports and just seems to have better co-ordination than the average person. can anyone explain ?
