I'm finishing up my G.E at a community college and don't know whether to retake a cl..?

I am planning to transfer to a state university up here in California.. I have a D in one cl.. will that hurt my chances of getting to the CSU of my choice.. I know I still have the units but should I retake it? Will it still be in my transcript? Will it hurt if I don't retake it?
