How long is a vegetable puree good for once it is prepared and refrigerated?

I make yellow squash and zuchinni puree to use as a pasta sauce but it seems to begin to stink after a day in the fridge. Broccoli puree on the other hand seems to hold up well for days. I haven't been able to find any info on how to keep a puree fresh without freezing it.
